Many back injuries are the result of improper lifting techniques. Individuals who try to lift using their back and core muscles can cause painful back injuries that are long-lasting and, in some cases, debilitating. To prevent back injuries it is important to know how to lift and move properly. Instead of bending forward and using the back and stomach muscles to lift the package, we should know how to hinge, squat, and use the arms to draw the package to the body. With the package firmly held to the body, raise both the package and body with the legs. It is important to follow the same steps in reverse when setting the package back down. At Got Your Back Total Health, our MoveMentality® is designed specifically to restore your body’s ability to move and lift with ease every day.
When it comes to back pain relief, massage therapy supports chiropractic adjustments by rehabilitating, strengthening, and mobilizig the muscles, soft tissues, and joints of your achy body. Chiropractic Adjustments restore the body's original structure, alignment, and balance. Receiving a massage after an adjustment strengthens the supporting muscle tissue and helps them hold the bones and connective tissue in place while they heal. Manually manipulating the soft tissues helps to improve circulation and increase the amount of oxygen to injured areas. The additional oxygen and nutrients hasten the healing process and make the injured tissues stronger and more resilient. At Got Your Back Total Health, we provide a wide variety of Massage Therapy services with our very special Marianne Panke, LMT. Marianne has been practicing massage for over 20 years, and is excited to be a part of the Got Your Back Team. Please feel free to contact her HERE and set up an appointment TODAY!
The type of treatment plan created for a patient's back pain relief will depend on whether or not the pain is chronic or acute. Acute pain will be resolved much quicker than chronic pain. It is important to first address the cause of the pain. Once the cause has been determined, a treatment plan can be created that will be able to eliminate the cause and relieve the symptoms. With chronic pain, the presence of long-term symptoms indicates the need to provide both strength and support to the affected area. Chiropractic adjustments, deep tissue massage, Class IV Laser Therapy, rehabilitation, physical therapy exercises, and movement education will be of the most benefit. When spinal curvature correction via Chiropractic BioPhysics is warranted, we may suggest restorative structural corrective care for chronic cases. In these cases we will use Dennerolls and other curve inducing traction devices as well. We believe that an educated patient is going to heal faster and sustain positive changes longer, and we strive to teach every ”body” all that we can so that they can lead healthier lives with a proactive and positive MoveMentality®.
